Private Military Company in the Russian Manner: The Wagner Group and Business on the Blood in the Central African Republic – Roman Asgarov

Private military companies are gradually becoming indispensable elements of nonlinear and hybrid warfare. A special case in the developing world of PMCs is the Wagner Group. Formed during the war in Ukraine in 2014, the Wagner Group has now become an effective tool to meet the interests of Russian business circles, as well as the geopolitical interests of the country itself. This article examines the activities of the Wagner Group in the Central African Republic, which is a failed state, with an unresolved conflict between religious confessions within the country, whose president does not have complete power over the entire country, and whose natural resources are a source of appetite for France, China and Russia.
